Kit and Equipment

ERT SAR SOP MINIMUM ESSENTIAL KIT.pdf

We have a special module on personal kit and equipment but for the abbreviated version here we can say the following:

ERT SAR Team members like all search and rescue teams - carry their kit and equipment on them.

In the case of ERT SAR we carry our gear in 5 areas - but the first three is where we carry personal kit on national GSAR Operations usually unless a Marine Unit / watyer Rescue call out or USAR missions or international deployments.

  1. On ones person and in pockets (i.e., watch, pens, notebook, whictle, compass, etc)
  2. On Duty Belt (such as water, snakcs, mini first aid kit, PPE, etc)
  3. in Grab Bag / 24 hour SAR Pack (such as more food and water, rescue gear, medical items, PPE, harness, helmet, etc.)
  4. in Tab Bag - extended travel (extensive resupply and change of clothes, sleeping gear , etc)
  5. in Utility bag / Follow on gear (such as spare USAR boots, marine kit, etc.)

The grab bag is a black rucksck with molle webbing - usually the Condor 3 day 125 Tactical Assault pack. The only things on it on the outside is your name, the country flag and our organisational name and a light for night duties.
