Kit and Equipment
ERT SAR SOP MINIMUM ESSENTIAL KIT.pdf
We have a special module on personal kit and equipment but for the abbreviated version here we can say the following:
ERT SAR Team members like all search and rescue teams - carry their kit and equipment on them.
In the case of ERT SAR we carry our gear in 5 areas - but the first three is where we carry personal kit on national GSAR Operations usually unless a Marine Unit / watyer Rescue call out or USAR missions or international deployments.
- On ones person and in pockets (i.e., watch, pens, notebook, whictle, compass, etc)
- On Duty Belt (such as water, snakcs, mini first aid kit, PPE, etc)
- in Grab Bag / 24 hour SAR Pack (such as more food and water, rescue gear, medical items, PPE, harness, helmet, etc.)
- in Tab Bag - extended travel (extensive resupply and change of clothes, sleeping gear , etc)
- in Utility bag / Follow on gear (such as spare USAR boots, marine kit, etc.)
The grab bag is a black rucksck with molle webbing - usually the Condor 3 day 125 Tactical Assault pack. The only things on it on the outside is your name, the country flag and our organisational name and a light for night duties.
